| These days it sometimes seems as if
we will never see the end of the violence and fear which has become
so prevalent around the world. Each day things seem to be worsening.
So long as the American people allow their government to continue
on their present path of using manipulation , untruths and evasions to
further their agenda there is little or no hope that things will improve.
I take no pleasure in making such
a statement but the time is long since past when anyone can afford to ignore
what has happened to the people who would lead us all in this
young century. We do so at our peril.
The changes we see in the way in
which the leadership of the country recognized as the Leader of the
Free World has chosen to govern are only the tip of the iceberg.
The lust for power we see manifested in this present administration is
frightening. And should be. Someone once said "Power corrupts, and
Absolute Power corrupts absolutely." Never have those words been more true
and never has it been so important that they be heeded..
We see a leader who promised to unite
his people pursuing his agenda by deliberately fostering division and breeding
mistrust in a people who all love their country but who, thanks to this
power group, have come to hate and mistrust one another. All a part
of the master plan to impose their will on a citizenry that should
now, more than at any time in the country's history, be united against
the common enemy we all face.
Checks and balances have always been
a part of the American system of government. This is no longer true.
The power group holds the Executive Branch, The Congress, The Senate, and
soon they will also control the Supreme Court. The Press which is expected
to be the watchdog and to keep the people informed has been muzzled and
even Free Speech is under attack as never before in the history of the
Republic. How does one successfully fight a mutual enemy when the
forces are rife with dissension and mistrust ?
And how can we have confidence and
follow such a leader without question or fear ? One would have to
be brain dead not to hesitate. Our mutual enemy does require that we all
come together as one if we are ever to ultimately prevail but following
a leader we do not trust or respect is alien to any standard we have
ever embraced. HIstory has shown just how disastrous that can be.
This hasn't happened overnight, it has
been in the making for at least two decades, if not longer, and as these
miscreants see their planning come to fruition they will not easily give
up but it is imperative for the very survival of democracy as we know it
that they be thwarted. The one hope is the American people. Americans are
basically decent God fearing people who value their freedom and cherish
their heritage. If I didn't believe that I would just be quiet and not
risk offending.
If only enough people will examine
events over the past ten years with open minds they will see that they
have been manipulated and coerced into believing that they are fighting
for their values when in fact they have been misled and encouraged in the
name of God and Country to blaspheme and ignore everything
which made them great in the first place.
I do believe there is hope and a light
at the end of this interminable tunnel, but only if enough citizens begin
to put partisan politics aside and remember that their country and
the welfare of the people comes first. Only then, will reason prevail.
The rest of the world is not the enemy of America, they quite simply do
not trust its present leadership and their methods of dealing with world
affairs. When we all stood together in attacking Afghanistan in an effort
to gain control of this terrorist menace which we all face there was unity.
Only when that pursuit was to all intents and purposes abandoned as the
U.S. focused on an old enemy who did not represent a threat to
us did that unity break down. And now with Iraq the new hotbed of
terrorist recruitment ... thanks in no small measure to the U.S.
actions ... and while the Afghanistan war once more heats up and the enemy
regains a foothold there ... now when unity is so desperately required
... there is no trust that the American leadership will even now
listen to reason from those who would stand with them if only they were
prepared to exhibit the wisdom so desperately needed if we are to
find a path to resolving the peril we all face.
It is imperative that changes be
made now in American policy for it isn't only terrorists we must consider.
There are other threats on the horizon as well. If our way of life is to
survive we must regain trust in the Leader of the Free World. We
will only do that when the American people take back their
voice and insist their government listen. Only then will we see light
at the end of this damnable tunnel they have led us into as they took on
the mantle of aggression and world domination in pursuit of their ill-fated
and reckless agenda.
