| This page has a very definite winter theme although it also acts as the home base for all my holiday pages. As the various pages have been created I have attempted to keep navigation visitor friendly. Christmas does have a larger section than other holidays, as you will see as you look around, so that link will lead you to a Christmas Entry page which will hopefully be easy to follow. The Christmas section has grown larger than I had originally anticipated as I have found it difficult to erase or delete those pages created over the past few years because it just seemed sad somehow to take down and erase something I had spent so much time conceiving and planning with such care prior to previous holiday seasons. My techniques and expertise have hopefully improved as the years have passed, as you will see as you visit the more recent pages. |

besides had I removed the older pages, my very first original stories for
children written with so much love and imagination for my grandchildren
would not have seen the light of day anywhere else. Pardon my personal
lack of modesty but I believe "Racqui the Raccoon", the "Snow People",
and "Petey's Christmas Wish"deserve better fates than that ! For those
of you who did visit during other holiday seasons ... I do hope your children
enjoyed the stories as much as I enjoyed writing them.
I do plan to continue adding to the stories for children as time goes by, and have in fact written one for another holiday as well ... it's title is "A Special Halloween Date " - a slight departure from my usual storytelling but I felt that holiday warranted somewhat different treatment, as you will see if you do take a detour to the Halloween page. <g> I had a wonderful time writing "Petey's Christmas Wish" ! I hope you enjoy reading it even half as much as I enjoyed its creation. Of course the hero of the story does happen to be a very big favourite of mine, as most of my visitors will discern rather quickly while traversing my site, so it made the writing a labour of love. "Magic Time", was so much fun to write, perhaps because the hero is once again Petey. I do hope you and your children enjoy reading about Petey's continuing adventures. He really is quite the interesting wee guy. Between his personality and my imagination we usually manage to come up with another tale. Don't knock imagination ... I can assure you it does help to keep one young if we manage to retain that wonderfully youthful trait which so many adults think they must stifle as they grow older. WRONG! They miss so much when they do this ... and I do not plan on ever letting go of mine. There are some who would say I won't ever grow up . I definitely hope they are right ! "Happy Holidays" once again features Petey and his family as well, as they share the wonderful secret of the Santa Hat with everyone. The story also introduces Penny and Pixie for the first time. We have fallen in love with both of them around here and I bet your children will as well. "Petey's Christmas Journey" another of Petey's adventures once again demonstrates just how much fun it can be to believe anything is possible if one only allows imagination to take over. I do hope your children have as much fun reading it as I did writing it. "A Time for Family and Friends" and "A Special Promise" focus mostly on Petey's family and his friends and how important home and family are, or should be to all of us. Perhaps because Petey is getting older he appreciates them more than in past years. "A Special Promise" has a very special theme which was created in the aftermath of the Katrina disaster. Last year's story "Tuffy's Very First Christmas" introduced for the first time our newest family member to everyone. I very much suspect he will become a favourite of all Petey's fans, just as Petey has always been. I know he has already become just that in very quick order to everyone around here. This year "Tuffy's Big Job" shows how Tuffy has become a really integral part of the holiday fun around here. We miss Petey a great deal but Tuffy does do a pretty good job of filling his shoes. |
| I sincerely hope the upcoming festive season will be everything you wish for as you and your families prepare your celebrations. This past year has been a stressful one for so many. During this upcoming holiday season ... cherish every memory, and tuck each one away. Those memories will become even more precious as we face the new year and the uncertainty of the months to come. |

of the anticipation and eagerness of your children during this Christmas
season. Their innocence and joy will remind even the most cynical among
us that it is indeed, just as that wonderful classic Jimmy Stewart movie
reminded us, "A Wonderful Life" These moments with your children,
as you watch and share in their wonder and joy, will become even more precious
as time passes and they become adults. Trust me, the years really do go
by far too quickly.
Of course, there is one very wonderful compensation for their no longer being little children, (although any Mother will tell you they never really stop being your 'baby') ... the fun you will have spoiling your grandchildren ! Even in this modern age, when everyone is so busy simply coping with everyday life and with our countries now also facing such grave circumstances, do try to make the effort to be a very real part of their lives. Those children can, and will, benefit so much from your lifetime of acquired wisdom ... Because of course, as everyone knows, all grandparents grow very wise with age. <g> And now, more than ever before, those children also need the reassurance and promise of continuity only a loving family can provide. |
