Finally the American people have chosen
a 'Leader'. One with the intelligence and the wisdom deserving of
the respect and support of everyone who realizes that true leadership is
rare and to be rewarded with support. Certainly there will be differences
but political ambition and self motivated interests cannot be allowed to
sabotage the efforts which are in the best interests of all. Far too much
depends on this leader succeeding. Not just our immediate way of life but
the way of life we will bequeath to the next generation.
Recognizing that even when things look
dire there is always another day and a new chance to begin anew and
we now have that chance is of paramount importance. What we do with it
is extremely critical. If we buy into the negativity of those who helped
to lead us into this morass of problems in which we now find ourselves
mired we are worse off than I think. For make no mistake. Those who obstruct
do not want change or improvement. It runs contrary to their agenda.
The ominous signs are already evident.
Rather than accepting what must be done and setting aside their damnable
partisan interests they are already demanding more of the same, which in
large measure created this mess. Their myopia is mind boggling. Their own
self interest is paramount as usual. They still don't get it. Their way
doesn't work. That has certainly been proven. And yet, they still don't
realize that continuing to play partisan politics with these crises is
only acerbating the problems.
It cannot be said often or loudly enough
. If you aren't willing to be a part of the solution then get out of the
way while others try to clean up the enormous mess you made. It was tried
your way and look at the disaster that created. Those who put partisan
interests ahead of restoring the U.S. and by extension the world
economy to financial stability will reap what they sow. The American people
are nowhere near as gullible as you think they are. They finally get it.
And they have had enough of your venomous rhetoric designed to divide the
country even more than it has been for several years now. They sent you
that message last November 4th. Obviously their message has gone unheeded
as you continue your headlong rush to oblivion as you persist in wallowing
in the approbation of those who support and enable your agenda and
encourage the hate and division.
You would do well to research what public
service is meant to be. It isn't a career in which you prosper while those
you swore to serve suffer. Its serving honourably with the common good
in mind always. Its a big tent that would welcome your participation if
you approach it with integrity and a sincere effort to work with others.
If you choose otherwise I suggest you begin to think of a different career
path. The country and the world can not any longer afford your kind of
'leadership'.
This new President has taken on a formidable
task, He isn't a Messiah or a magician. He cannot do it alone. He needs
the help of each and every legislator and citizen to accomplish what needs
doing so that the country and even the world can recover from the mismanagement
and lack of oversight of the financial sector. He is open to inclusion.
It is up to those who prefer obfuscation to decide if they care enough
to join him.
This is, of course, not the only
problem he must address. The world is in a very unstable state as well
and will require a great deal of diplomacy and care if we are not to see
escalation of the many trouble spots around the globe. Global warming can
no longer be denied. Energy problems must be dealt with and no longer ignored.
And those are just a few of the issues he must address. Seldom has a President
and Leader of the Free World faced as many problems all needing his
attention simultaneously. He has inherited a nightmare.
I truly believe he is the right man at
the right time and through the grace of God we are blessed to be
in such safe hands. It will take everyone working together in this arduous
task to change the course we have been on for far too long. It's
time to act responsibly, set politics aside and work together to do what
must be done. A unified people are a force which can accomplish feats beyond
imagining. If he is given a chance to do what he knows needs doing
without the usual obstruction we are all so familiar with from politicians
I sincerely believe he will not disappoint. It remains to be seen if he
will be given that support. A former President several decades ago said
it infinitely better than I ever could. I'll leave it to his words to say
it for me.
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not
what your country can do for you -
ask what you can do for your country.
My fellow citizens of the world: ask
not what America will do for you,
but what together we can do for the
freedom of man."
President John F. Kennedy
